Ricardo
Jarvis is an old scholar and former athlete of Foundation School. He is a former
Technical Manager at both IBM and Canadian Bank Note, a leading Canadian
Financial Institution. He was also responsible for setting up the first
lottery in Barbados' computerised division and online trading in 1990. For five
years he was in the United States Air Force and rose to the rank of Lieutenant.
He was awarded a scholarship under the Air Force "Bootstrap Academic
Program". Ricardo holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in both
Computer Science and Business Administration. In addition he has a
Master's Degree in Management & Finance from Troy State University, Alabama,
USA.
He is currently Managing Director of Ameritech Global Services Ltd and has responsibility for developing the company's regional and global strategy. He has years of extensive experience in running enterprises in both the US and UK where the company's overseas headquarters is based (London).
An author also is he of two books, the first a best seller which was published in Britain in 1997 titled "Marketing and Selling On the Internet", and his second book "Ameritech Global Guide to Corporate Development and Expansion" in the region.
This outstanding young businessman is a finalist in the Ernst & Young Caribbean Entrepreneur of the Year 2000, a reflection of the achievements of the company, not only in London and Barbados, but also the region.
As a proud old scholar of Christ Church Foundation School he has contributed significantly to the physical plant of Foundation's Computer Labs. He and his co-workers (some of whom are also old scholars of Foundation School) have spent many hours networking the schools computers. Ricardo is also responsible for the repainting of the said labs.
He was also a driving force behind the school's Athletic Club which has helped to lift the standard of our athletics in the year 2000.
The Foundation Family sees him as a role model for present students of our beloved institution. Athlete, academic, author, entrepreneur, proud old scholar of Christ Church Foundation School, all networked to form the man, Ricardo Jarvis.
