Welcome to the website

What does it mean to have gone to Foundation School whether it was Girls Foundation, Boys Foundation or the amalgamated Christ Church Foundation?

What does it mean to me personally?

How can I give back to the school which ... and forgive the pun has helped laid the foundation for who I am today?

How do I take the many experiences from school both negative and positive and either share how they have served to develop me or how do I use them to shape my future?

These are some of the many questions that as President, and with the help of the Executive and you the members and friends of Foundation will seek to address for the year 2006/2007, the outcome that would benefit us the FOSA family personally and collectively.

My vision is to ultimately see FOSA as a thriving, viable organism whose heartbeat is not only comradery but service. Among our targets for this year is to increase the active membership by 10%; to bridge the gap between the School and the Association through increased awareness and participation; to enhance the online Year Books; to produce a Membership Card; and to create a Membership Directory which would include contact information, type of business and career (Velma’s brain child). All of which are attainable if in true Foundation spirit we work together to accomplish them.

This year promises to be an exciting one with some area of the school as we know it being demolished and refurbished namely the School Hall which was the link between the Boys and Girls School but has for years outgrown the use for the amalgamated School. This historical site will be torn down in summer of 2006 to make room for a ‘Bigger and Better’ Hall. In light of this the theme for this year’s Week of Activities July 23rd – 29th is ‘The Fall of the Hall’. Please check the website, your inbox and mailbox, and the print and electronic media for upcoming events.

Special thanks to all the Past Presidents who I have served under for the past 12 years especially my mentors Ruth Marshall-Sam and Vernon Weekes for their guidance and encouragement, and to Velma King who always ran a tight ship.

On behalf of the Executive, I thank you and look forward to your continued support to our active members and your involvement to the many many new members who are yet to join.
